Certificate of Authenticity

Each piece of jewellery that we manufacture comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. But why?

Firstly, Whitby is not the only source of jet in the world. It is however the source of the best quality jet in the world. As we are located in Whitby we are ideally situated to take advantage of this rare commodity and we use ONLY the best quality Whitby Jet.

Secondly, our jewellery is hand made, BY US, at our premises in Whitby and we are proud to put our name to each and every piece of it.

Of course we don't stop there. We have the same attitude in respect of other materials that we use and other items that we sell. A good example would be our attitude to amber. The amber that we use in our combination work is genuine Baltic amber. That in itself is nothing unusual. Many jewellers use Baltic amber and advertise that their wares are made from it. What they don't tell you however is that it is possible to grind amber into a fine powder and reconstitute it by heating it under oil. It's still genuine Baltic amber but it's RECONSTITUTED Baltic amber. WE DO NOT DO THIS. When we use amber in our jewellery, it is carved from pieces of the raw material as it was found, in it's natural state.
